In the Port of Moerdijk, the Harbour master, as Port Security Officer (PSO), is the authority for security in the entire port on behalf of the mayor of Moerdijk. To minimize the risk of security incidents, security rules apply. These rules are laid down by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in the International Ship & Port Facility (ISPS) Code.
Since mid-2019, the Port Security Officer has been using MOBI, a national online application in which the Port Security Officer and his staff, the PFSOs, the ISPS Assessment Team and the ISPS supervisors share information with each other for the security of the port within the framework from ISPS.
